I have finally decided to quit smoking (again)! This time I have talked my husband into it too! I don't think I can quit without him quitting too!

I purchased Mistic E Cigs at the store and they seem to be working, they take the edge off, as I have not had a real cigarette since Monday. My husband has had a couple of real cigs but says he likes the E Cigs, he was smoking 2 packs a day., I smoked a 1/2 pack a day. I hope this time we will be successful, we really need to quit this horrible habit!

I am glad for the technology of these E Cigs and seem to be curbing my craving and dependence on tobacco and hopefully can remain smoke free this time!

Good luck! I quit smoking 28 years ago cold turkey. I'm so glad I don't smoke now.

I wish you both luck. My dh and I quit four years ago. Both of our fathers died from lung cancer and I lost my brother a little over a year ago who also had lung cancer, but other issues as well. My dh said he wanted to use the e-cigs for just a few months and is still using them much to my chagrin. They're expensive, but it's better than smoking, I guess. Good luck ~ it does get easier. When you get the urge, get up and do something else for a few minutes, the urge usually goes away.

PS: I had smoked for 30 years and recently had to take a breathing test for some auto immune disorders and I scored so high that the Dr. couldn't believe that I had been a smoker. So, there is hope to regain healthy lungs.

Thank you to all of you! TwoPeas I lost my sister to lung cancer( she was a nonsmoker) 7 years ago, she was only 47 and I think it is time to kick this horrible habit. Not a very good way to honor my sister's memory, and hurt everyone around us, including us. She fought so hard to beat cancer, I think we should do the same with fighting this addiction.

I'm one of your cheerleaders snapdragon! I quit more than 30 years ago but I remember it like it was yesterday. Come back and post your progress. We'll cheer you on. It is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your family. I lost my brother to lung cancer a short while ago. Best of luck to you! LM

Good luck to you, snap! I quit cold turkey in 1979 and it was maybe one of the two smartest things I ever did in my life. Especially now that my first cousin (who is 3 years younger than me) is in hospice, dying from COPD, 100% related to her lifelong cigarette habit. You can do this!

Hi Lilysmom and fromthebronx, Thank you both also for your words of encouragement! My husband and I are doing well. These ECigs really help! 5 days and no real cigarettes. I think this time we can do it, in the past quitting cold turkey has not worked, I would be back to smoking in a week, but these ECigs really are helping us this time! Our family and friends are so happy we are quitting!( and so are we)

Thank you to all that replied and good to know that I am not alone, and that you have all kicked this habit and stayed smoke free!!!!
