Questions about diagnosed with Gastritis

Three days ago I became bloated beyond belief and had diahrea for two days. I had some discomfort around my heart so Sat. nite I went to an urgent care. He diagnosed it as gastritis and said to take Prilosec, 20mg. once a day for a month. I mentioned to him that I had been on a Z-Pak antibiotic for bronchitis two weeks ago. He implied that it messed up my gi tract. Has anyone had gastritis? And, I am hearing that it is hard to clear up and can last for weeks sometimes. Anyone get it as a response to an antibiotic? Any feedback would help. It's my first go round with this. Confused. Still feel the effects of the gastritis (belching and gas) after 3 days on the Prilosec. Thanks ladies.{#emotions_dlg.blush}
