Questions about Armour

I've been on Synthroid for about 5 years now. I have been doing a lot of research on the natural thyroid medications. I just filled my 1st prescription for Armour, I will be starting it tomorrow. My pharmacy only has Armour which they filled and didn't mention that they weren't giving me the Naturethroid that the script was written for. I haven't heard too much good on the Armour since they changed the formula. Just wondering if anyone is taking the Armour and is the formula better now? Do you crush the pill before taking it or do you just swallow it whole? Any info would be helpful. TIA
