Question about hormones

This may sound like a silly question but some women in the office were talking and I started wondering...did they take the synthetic hormones off the market?? i.e. Prempro, premarin, etc. I know there are bio-identical hormones but wondered what ever became of the synthetic and if they are still around. And if they aren't what does everyone do who needs to be on hormones?? I didn't think that insurance companies for the most part covered the bio-identical hormones and was just wondering what people do now-or if there are other choices out there.
