There is an American company that manufacturs medical grade face masks called Armbrust. On their website are videos explaining everything you could ever want to know about masks and the requirements for them.

Thank you so very much! I can smell the chemicals in the disposable KN95s and the flat fold medical kind so I have only been wearing my cloth masks. I have some Chinese made KN 95s from a FDC approved company but they still have that faint chemical smell, which can give me a headache. I ordered some of the Lutema children's five layer KN95s to try as I have a small face. If they are too small, will give them to a family with kids and order the adult size.

Re: Question about Masks

To the person who asked if the KN95s are the same as KN95s. No they are not the same, because the CDC and FDA say they are not the same nor is the KN95 allowed for use in medical situations in the USA. The KN95 is what China calls their hospital grade style. Might be as good, might be inferior. If you don't buy an American made brand like Lutema of KN95s, be careful to check that the Chinese manufacturer is approved and not banned by the USA government. I purchased Chinese made KN95s from Source Ortho which tells you which are approved companies but these still have a faint chemical smell. I am sensitive to chemicals. Also, was reading just today about a bunch of Chinese made fake masks that have been stopped at the dock in the USA. Fake masks means they don't work and are not what is claimed. That is scary.

I wanted to put this out there for those wanting an N95, NIOSH approved, made in the US mask.

I took a chance and ordered from Protective Health Gear,  Found them online in my search for N95's, and liked what I read about them.  Great reviews.  Stll, I worried if they were legit.

I received my order within 2 weeks and I am very pleased.  They are the real deal and have the strap that goes over the head, which is imperative on N95's.  They are the real deal.

But.....you have to buy by the box.  They come 50 in a box, individually wrapped.  The cost is $199.00.  It works out to like $4.00 a mask.  Not an unreasonable price, IMO, if you can swing it.

Just sharing what I consider a good find.

I have a very sensitive nose -- can't stand anything perfumed or chemical smelling. I wear a KN95 mask over the blue cup mask and I have a piece of cotton from a tee shirt next to my face inside the blue cup.

Wear a mask. Social distance. Be part of the solution - not part of the problem.

Added to this strand because it was the best I could do!

I must have silk face masks so far or my face breaks out in a rash. Anybody else have this issue?

Another thing...it seems like everybody is selling them and then they are making a big deal about how theirs is different.

So is anybody in the US selling silk masks or something made out of skin friendly fabric? I'm wondering why vendors are not addressing this issue?

They are no different!
