A change in diet could be 2-fold:

1.  weight loss AND

Very insensitive and unhelpful post.

The majority of medical doctors will suggest weight loss

as an important tool to reduce high blood pressure.

Re: Question About Blood Pressure Med

I’ve been being treated for HBP for about 5 yrs. or so.  I dont have any experience with your particular medication.  In the beginning, I tried Lysinopril and Norvasc.  One gave me a constant cough, the other made my legs swell like tree trunks.  I did some research and found that a simple diuretic can often be all one needs to control their BP.  My nurse practitioner agreed to try it and thats what I’m using now.   I’m sure it all depends on how bad it is and but it’s worth discussing it with your PCP.

@MagnoliaMs

I use Drugs.com to help me better understand  the meds I am taking. It shows photos, common dosages, side effects, and cost.

Any changes, bad OR GOOD, in your stress/sleep levels? I maintained a healthy blood pressure after losing 85 pounds, omitting all white foods, and being moderately active, but I’m now dealing with some unmovable stressors, both happy and sad, that appear to have spiked my BP to a level that isn’t acceptable to me.

I too was tried on many (7] different BP meds about 10 years ago, but I’m really having to go back to square one this time.

I seem to be pretty sensitive to salt, so that’s the first to go........

Came Back to add, a cup or two of Celestial Seasonings ZINGER Tea, any flavor may help, and actually ANY Hibiscus Tea can sometimes do the same. I love Walmart Strawberry Herbal Tea. “Hibiscus” is listed as the primary ingredient.

Re: Question About Blood Pressure Med

@MagnoliaMs

This came across my YouTube feed this morning!.

Perfect timing.

Again, diet & movement makes such a huge difference

for natural blood pressure reduction.

Like Dr. Popper says, the medication side effects are, many times,

causing the things you want to avoid (heart attacks, cardiovasular

disease).

This is just informational only.

Any specific info for diet/exercise is not covered.

Hope this gives you some insight & motivation that drugs are

not the optimum choice & there are many healthier options!

What did your pharmacist say?

When I lose the TV controller, it's always in some remote destination.

Re: Question About Blood Pressure Med

Natural substances you can try to lower your BP are beets, hibiscus flower, hawthron extract.
