Next time you grab a quick granola bar for breakfast, make sure you check your label. Quaker Oats has issued a recall of its quinoa granola bars because of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The company discovered the issue after the supplier of its sunflower kernels found contamination in their products.
Luckily, most products affected by the possible contamination never made it onto store shelves, according to Quaker. But here are the products that did:

No illnesses have been reported yet, but Quaker is issuing the recall voluntarily as a precaution. If you have the contaminated granola bars, you should throw them away or return them to the store for a full refund. Listeria infections sicken around 1,600 people every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and it is the third leading cause of death from food poisoning. Symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal symptoms. It's most dangerous for pregnant women, babies, older adults, and anyone with a compromised immune system.
