I posted this also in Beauty, pardon the repetition but I need the wisdom of all the kitty and doggie experts here.

My wonderful senior kitty Tux has pretty bad arthritis and is always seeking a warm place to ease his little hips. Can anyone recommend a heated pet mat or bed, electrically or otherwise, that would be safe for me to leave on overnight in the Living room while I sleep?

I tried one of those thermal jobs that is supposed to reflect his body heat but it apparently is not effective as he ignores it. He does try to sleep on my stereo receiver whenever it's on.

An alternative might be a space heater but again, only if it's safe to leave on while I sleep and the cats are in the other room.
