Can anyone shed light on this? I read somewhere, if you have any type of facial fillers (Botox, Jeverderm, etc) that you should not get the Moderna vaccine.
There is an issue with facial swelling?
I have an appt. next month, and it is with the Moderna type vaccine.
Now I am worried. I do have facial fillers, as I am sure many women do.

There is something I just found via Google:
Experts interviewed by TODAY Health said that there were two cases of temporary swelling reported by participants in the Moderna vaccine trial. Dr. Mathew Avram, a Boston-based dermatologist and the president of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), said that a third case was reported but it was "unclear" if it was a direct effect from the vaccine.

I’ve had facial fillers. Should I get the COVID-19 vaccine

ETA: I also have an issue that's problematic .... I'm waiting until all "results" are in.

I realize I am one example only, but I have fillers and had no problem at all with the vaccine.

I haven't had fillers for over a year and had one Moderna vaccine, am due the next on Feb 27. I had no trouble with the first shot & it's been awhile since fillers so ILL DO THE SECOND SHOT!

i do not have any fillers of any kind. i had shot 1 of Moderna next one due 26 feb.
the only side effect i had was sore arm, a slight headache (off and on most of day), and very prickly skin for about 24 hours (felt like rough clothes on that had not been rinsed well in washer), see what happens on the 26th

Because they can and want to?
For the same reason that some people will never stop coloring their hair...

What I read did not say not to get the vaccine. It just reported that there was a possibility of redness and irritation if you had fillers. It only happened to a few people and it resolved within a few days. I didn't pay much attention beyond that because I don't have fillers

this was posted on my derm's home page
We recommend waiting for 2 weeks to receive the COVID vaccine if you have recently had dermal filler.
Before booking new appointments for filler, If you have received the Pfizer vaccine, we recommend waiting for 8 weeks after the 1st dose to have filler.
For Moderna vaccine, the recommended wait time is 10 weeks from the initial vaccine to have filler.
