This is what I'm taking. The site is at the top of the photo.
@SilleeMee if this meets your needs, it would make my day!

@tends2dogs wrote:@SilleeMee I found a PURE ORIGINALS brand on A. 1440 mg. for 3 capsules. From the root and has no fillers - lab tested. It is 12.99 for 100 caps so about a one month supply.
Lessman is $21 for 60 and $55 for 180, but his has the magnesium and vitamin c.
The Amazon one looks like a much better price.
The PURE ORIGINALS brand was what I had in mind also. To me it has what I am looking for and the price is attractive.

Looks good! A bit more than I want to pay but I like the simple ingredients. The added leucine is suppose to stimulate insulin production.

@SilleeMee A couple more quick questions, if you don't mind....
Is Berberine HCI different than just berberine? I couldn't get a satisfactory answer when I googled it.
Also, what are your thoughts about pulsing with this product. Some sites I read said to take for 8 weeks and then go off for 2 weeks due to elevated liver counts.
I wonder if the posters on here that were told by their cardiologists to take this were also told to pulse it???

Berberine HCL is the same thing as berberine.
Liver injury or elevated liver enzymes are not associated with taking berberine so pulse dosing is irrelevant in regards to that. However, since berberine is a mild antibiotic, it can alter the normal flora of the gut. In those cases sometimes users will experience diarrhea, constipation or both which are reported mild side effects. With that in mind be aware of your bowel movements and if you need to adjust the duration of dosing then you can do that. For instance, I usually take normal doses (3 per day) for 7 days straight and then for the next 7 days I only take it once daily. If I go over that amount then I get constipated. Everyone is different so you will have to do the trial and error thing and see how your body reacts. Most people's normal flora can recover within 3 to 5 days after mild disruptions in diet (taking berberine included). So since diets vary so will your dosing times.
The NIH has published many articles about berberine. They report dosage as being 500 to 1500mg per day. Amounts larger than that should not be taken unless recommended by a health professional.

Thanks so much for the additional info, @SilleeMee .
I was telling my sister about your recommendation of berberine because of your experience etc. She asked me, what is her website called? LOL I had to explain to her how I have come to "know" you. ![]()

I thought the addition of cinnamon was supposed to be a good thing.
My main issue is with how many pills you have to take a day. I have trouble swallowing capsules to start with, and this doesn't look like something I would want to remove from the capsule to add to food. Plus, I wouldn't be eating something I might want to sprinkle two or three times/day.
I just recently finished a course of antibiotics following a root canal and the darned things got hung up on my uvula a couple of times. And I kept forgetting the midday dose as I never take medicine midday. I can only remember in the morning and at breakfast when I can add to my yogurt and before bed.

May I butt in to inquire, what is the berberine supposed to be good for?

I thought people take this because of glucose levels.
