I was calculating my calories on My Fitness Pal for yesterday. My husband had brought home an 8” pumpkin pie from Publix. The pieces are very tiny. I had two pieces but I didn’t eat the crust. I was surprised to find out how low the calories are when you do this. I didn’t miss the crust at all and the Publix pie filling was delicious. Just 84 calories for one 8” crustless slice.

That is so funny! I am making one tonight for tomorrow's dinner and I had planned to just eat the filling since I don't eat grains anymore. Good to know!

I never eat crust. In fact ,when I make one, I put it in a pan, without crust, and just bake the custard

@Mindy D This is how I eat pumpkin pie! Due to food allergies my beloved maman made me a curstless pumpkin pie so I could eat it years ago. Ever since, this is the way my family eats it. We love it.

This was shared with my family many years ago, and has been a favorite with everyone since Day 1. By request, I am taking it for Thanksgiving dessert tomorrow.
I recently asked the person who shared it what the points would be. She said the system has changed since this came out, but that she'd guesstimate around 3 per serving, which is probably about 1/2 cup.
Pumpkin Fluff
Weight Watchers
15 ounce can pumpkin puree
1 ½ cups skim milk
1 small box sugar-free, fat-free vanilla or white chocolate instant pudding
1 cup Lite Cool Whip
1 ½ teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
Mix pudding with milk. Stir in pumpkin, Cool Whip and spice. Refrigerate.

I'm not sure this would help me - THIS is the way I like my pie:
(cracks me up every year...)

@denisemb Now that's commitment! I am sorry the plate/pie got in the way. LOL

Love good homemade pie crust! My mom made the best tasting flakiest crusts. She lightly added sugar and cinnamon to the extra dough and baked it. My brother and I loved that treat! I don’t eat pie often so I don’t feel guilty eating it for a holiday treat.

Somewhere, a while ago, I found a recipe for a pumpkin pie with a self crust. It made the thinnest bit of crust and was wonderful.

I have allergies to milk and eggs, and not fond of pumpkin, so pumpkin pie is of no real interest to me. For me, pie means apple, cherry, or pecan.
Once or twice a year, I do eat chocolate pie in memory of my dad.
