I don't prep, I just go. It is what it is.

I go for an annual physical and always have the dr. send me results of my blood work. I like to check them against the prior year's results. Going early July in fact - I don't worry about what they think of my weight or anything like that. I'm in pretty good shape - walk every day with dogs and by myself - work outdoors all the time taking care of an acre of property. I just think it's good to know if something has changed from the year before.

I guess I want to only hear good news and not be told I need medication or the like.
I do not like having Dr. checkups , I think getting weighed is THE WORST PART OF ALL! But, I go get my checkup because I know how important it is to know what is going on with blood work etc.
Do you ever "prepare" for your annual checkups?
Maybe I am just weird this way?😳😉
@SeaMaiden I refuse to be weighed, as it is already in the records, I just tell her what my scale says and that is that. I also don't answer personal questions not pertaining to my health. I only have a yearly blood panel, not a yearly physical.
Me too! I'm not going for a weight check, I know what I weigh. I'll tell them if they ask. My pcp asks if I want to discuss my weight and I just say.....no, I'll make an appointment if I do. However, this year I am down 55lbs so I might want to brag about that a bit...lol

Really? I have never had a doctor subtract anything!
I don't get on the scale but I'm sure I would not hang onto my handbag if I did....and I'm sure that if I did, they'd laugh at me and tell me to put it in the chair.

@chrystaltree I'm with you!

I'm guilty of cleaning my diet up although at this point there is not much to clean. But I do watch the treats, if any, a week or so before and I may have taken red yeast rice pills also a month before my last exam to make sure my cholesterol levels were good.

I don't bother with any extra shaving, I'm clean, that's all he gets.
I take my clothes off for NO ONE and all my doctors know better than to even ask.
I wear a blouse & skirt or slacks, so if they want to feel around or whatever, I can pull up or yank down.
I'm borderline on my weight so getting on the scale is no problem, I have so many health issues, unrelated to weight, so it's the last thing on the list that my doctor would even mention.
I try to make a mental note of the last time I may have had certain tests, (labwork, CT's, X-rays, whatever) so he can check the results or so he won't duplicate order anything.
They always make me pee in the cup, so I carry a bottle of water with me and hydrate on the way to the office.

Seems like my timing with the doctor is always bad, like just when I got home from a vacation! I'm always up a few pounds and I tell him I weigh less at home Doc, really!!
LOL Oh well, I don't stress too much about it, I'm all about preventive care. In which case sometimes weight changes can indicate hidden health issues! Just saying![]()

that's the extend of me getting prepared.
@Carmie LOL!
A couple of years ago, I broke some bones in my ankle when I fell taking papers to the garage for recycling. I was cleaning and felt dirty and sweaty.
i crawled, really crawled, upstairs and got into the shower and shaved my legs before I would let hubby drive me to the ER. I was afraid I would have a cast and would not be able to shower and shave really well for weeks,
i got one of those casts that I had to pump up in three places, but it could be removed for showers. I was glad for that.
My DH thinks I am crazy. I would hate to be dirty when I need medical attention, but I suppose in an emergency, I would not have a choice.
@Carmie Lol, never heard of such a cast, but then I have never worn one. Once I was deathly ill, screaming headache, upsing all night even when there was nothing to upsie, so called the doctor and was told to go to the ER. I set my hair, shaved, and got dressed, DH came home from work to take me. I can't remember if I put any make-up on, but doubt it as I was so ill.
Another time I had the flu or some virus and did put make-up on and the doctor told me I didn't look sick, so I said, "even when I am ill, I still have some pride." I never go out in public without a shower and makeup.

@SeaMaiden I have lost weight & the doctor says it sounds like I'm complaining about it. I told him No I was not complaining about it I was just concerned with having a health issue that's causing it. I gained 10 lbs during Shingles. Lost 7 of it so far & 3 more to go. I think it was mostly fluid since I retained quite a bit with the medication. The top of my feet are still puffy.
