Premier Protein Shakes & Bars

[ Edited ]

Has anybody tried these? The shakes have 30 grams of protein & only 1 gram of sugar. The bars have 20 grams of protein. The Shakes are 160 calories. The bars are about 250.

I'm watching my weight & wondering if these would help. I've used Secure by Andrew Lessman but it doesn't have a lot of protein & leaves me hungry. It also doesn't come in individual packets anymore. They discontinued them several years ago.

  I would appreciate any input.Thanks.

Re: Premier Protein Shakes & Bars

I buy these at Costco. I've had the banana and chocolate. I like both but I usually buy the chocolate. I tried a sample of the Carmel and didn't love it. Maybe if it was cold it would be better. I usually have one for breakfast and it lasts probably 4 hours or so. I'm not real fond of the bars. I found them to be a bit dry but that was years ago when I last tried them. Have I lost any weight? nope. For me they are just a lower calorie breakfast substitute when I don't feel like a yogurt.

@NicksmomESQ.  I live alone, don't cook much so use these drinks to supplement my lack of protein for some meals.  They don't taste real yummy...sort of medicinal but if they're very cold I get them down.  My standard is always chocolate but I like the vanilla best.  I don't seem to get hungry very soon after drinking them.

I was not a fan of the shakes

I have used them, I purchased the chocolate last time.  I use my ninja and add a little ice.  I thought they were OK.  I believe they have strawberry as well.

Also have added a banana to them, works well in the ninja.

I love their shakes, haven't tried the bars. Sam's Club carries them.

I used their shakes for months after a long hospitalization and surgery because preparing multiple meals each day was too exhausting, and I needed the protein.

I've used their shakes as a meal replacement following dental work, when I'm still numb and likely to bite myself.

I use their shakes occasionally when I'm too busy with something that must be done in a timely manner, and can't interrupt just for a meal.

I feel the Premier shakes are the best choice to incorporate into a diet as long as you work it into your 24 hour caloric intake.

Yes, I've used it this way too, but for a limited time just to get a jump start. Make sure you're getting your fiber in the other meals.

I suggest you wash it down with a big glass of water or tea to help give that 'full' feeling.

Hey @NicksmomESQ I don’t know how much help I can provide but I use Premier Protein shakes and bars and like them very much. I constantly battle with my waistline but I use Slimfast Advanced for meal replacement.

Just started with Premier a few weeks ago at the recommendation of a coworker’s successful completion of gastric bypass.

Because I don’t eat meat I have to supplement protein in my diet and can just feel better with this addition but I cannot say it curbs my appetite but it sure doesn’t hurt.

Good luck in your efforts.

Our whole family loves the shakes and I like the bars as well. Much better value and nutritional profile than Secure, which sounds like Ensure.

I buy Walmart brand Equate in these shakes...same as Premier Protein,,160 calories, 30g protein and 1 g sugar....Also alot cheaper..Used to get PP at Costco but they really raised their prices on these compared to last year....Equate is the same as far as I'm concerned...I just bought the chocolate 12 pack this morning for $14.97.
