Re: Please, Please, Please help me...

For you judgmental people. She was proposed to on July 7th of last year on her birthday. My cousin is the type that gets man happy. She told me and my sister she wanted us to be in the wedding. We got fitted in January, the dresses came back in April. We asked her why she ordered so soon, she said to make sure our dresses would be back on time. I got my dress and never tried it on until the other night. I don't know any of you. Why would I post, or waste my time asking for advice from people I don't know, surely not to win a prize. I would never make up a story, for what? In tears, I thought of this QVC board, and decided to ask for advice, because some people really are nice, and give good advice. After I read what some of you suggested that I fess up, I started to feel guilty, and I tagged her on Facebook. She said she's not mad, and she understands. She told me not to panic. She will be coming up tomorrow to Alabama to see what we can do. She said we may have to go back to David's Bridal and see what/if we can get help. Some of you need to think about others feeling before you respond do rudely. I never bully or say anything bad to no one, because you never know what words can do to people. I read posts all the time that I don't agree with, but I never respond or say anything to hurt people. thank you everyone for your help. I will fast, and drink lemon water, salads and whatever I can do not to let my cousin down. Plus I'm on my peri*d, so I hope that helps some of the bloating to subside.

Going to David's Bridal is a great idea. If nothing else, they would advise you of seamstress used to alterations on these type of dresses. Good luck, I am sure it will allwork out.

Some people are just plain rude. Pay no attention to them. And it is dangerous to go on these fad diets, I don't know how tight the dress is but I would never recommend spans, they are not that great. Now if you can't get to a seamstress, go online and google long line bras. My friend had a similar problem, spanx didn't work, but the long line bra held her in and no lumps or bumps. They have both strapless ones and ones with straps. They are adjustable like any other bra. Good luck. I'm sure things will work out just fine and you will look fabulous.

Really?? I can't believe you contacted the bride through Facebook to inform her of the situation {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

...and don't you mean that you "messaged" her on Facebook rather than "tagged" {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Your description of the bride being "man happy" has me puzzled, what does that have to do with all of this??

I cannot imagine being a maid of honor in a wedding and not having the bride's phone number!

I am glad that David's Bridal has the same dress in the same color in a larger size for you. What a relief!

Re: Please, Please, Please help me...

So it was special ordered from Davids? Well, in that case, there was a step missing! The alteration. I wonder why the bride didn't ask everyone if their dress fit ok. I would think it would behoove the bride to make sure these dresses were ok for everyone. I wouldn't have left everything up to chance for my wedding. Ordering a "size down", having not tried on that size sounds very risky. It is not like op tried that size in the store. Well, sometimes we have to learn from these life's lessons. I really hope OP didnt come on this board with 16 history to secretly make fun of us with her friends. I wonder why she didnt ask bridemaids, friends, family, etc for this advice?????

So glad for you that you are getting a different size. Just a thought, however. This time try the dress on. There's still a slim chance you might need a minor alteration. Let someone at David's Bridal look at it and see if any alterations are needed. Sometimes a size larger means an inch or so longer or . . . Just be sure to check it quickly. Enjoy the wedding.

Re: Please, Please, Please help me...

I have done juice fasts. I bought a juicer and juice celery, cucumbers, carrots, etc. The juice and water is all you have. I lost 10lbs in seven days. I did not cheat. Research it. Its basically used to reset your body from bad eating habits. The juice is nutrient dense so you lose the weight and don't feel too hungry at all. Its not as hard as you think and its good for your body. Look into it. I have done an 8 and 15 day juice fast. Your dress should zipper afterwards. If this sounds like something you can do please research it. It may sound crazy to some people but asbli g as you drink enough juice its very healthy for you. Good luck I have been there too.
