IBS feels different than reflux. IBS is a bowel problem so,the cramping is in the Lower abdomen, when mine was bad it felt like labor,pains. Reflux is acid from the stomach so is usually felt up higher, even in the throat or heart area. IBS does not feel worse when lying prone, reflux does.

Maybe its time to consider a different Doctor or Insurance. I was misdiagnosed twice. First an Ulcer, then IBS-D then finally a Gastro guy figured out it was Fatty Liver. A fixable issue with proper diet, healthy low fats and lots of exercise. See a specialist other than on the phone or on the web.
