Re: Please Everyone keep fingers crossed "Unexplained 25 lb. Weight Loss"

I just spoke with him on the phone a bit ago...... he told me he drank so much

water, uncontrollable thirst and lots of trips to the bathroom because of all

of the water he drank.   He tried to get in a couple of weeks ago, but could

get in only until recently.    His blood sugar was off the charts.  700 !

Thank you SO MUCH for your post !   Your post was spot on with his symptoms.

I had no idea of that part.  I only knew about his weightloss.

So glad I came here to ask ~  I know now !

Thank you for posting and everyone for their experience in the rapid unexplainable

weight loss...... So Appreciated !

Have a great evening !

When I found out I was a diabetic I lost tons of unexplained weight. But what took me to the doctor was the uncontrollable thirst and excessive urination.

Thank you for your post...... it was nice to come here and see that what people

had to say of the symptoms that I had posted..... as it was spot on Diabetes !

Nice to come here for well wishes too.....   I just spoke with my SIL and he

had told me that he could not drink enough water, always thirsty and lots of

trips to the bathroom because of all the thirst.   I did not know about this

part of what was going on, only the weight loss.   When he mentioned it

to the doc, she said this sounds like Diabetes, and sure enough !

Thank you for your kind words.  Have a great evening !

Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis !   Thank you everyone for your posts !!!   I just spoke

with him tonight and he is home and has homework to do on his change of diet

and glucose monitoring etc.  Thankfully our daughter will help him out and will

adapt the diet accordingly.

Thank you for sharing your experience..... this was helpful to come here.

Have a great evening !

My first thoughts are diabetes.   My husband lost 28 lbs in less than 6 weeks when he got his diagnosis.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences on dramatic unexplained weight loss.... I had only mentioned thyroid to see if anyone had experienced weight loss with an over active thyroid as it was one of the symptoms when I googled it.

It turns out it was Diabetes as so many people had mentioned here !

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and for sharing your experiences.... it was helpful !

I am glad I came here to this forum, it was helpful  !  Thank you everyone for your Positive Feedback and Positive Well Wishes ~  I Sincerely Appreciated it !  Turns out that many of the posters here had it right !

Our Son- inlaw has lost 25 lbs in the last I want to say couple of months?

I was just told about this yesterday, and had not noticed, but he wears

big sweatshirts, so would have been hard to notice.

I am hoping it is his thyroid..... or?

It is a lot of weight to lose, he is about 5'6 and his normal weight would

have been about 165 ?

Has anyone else ever heard of losing weight like this tied to thyroid or ???

Also...... any kind of testing that should be done first that anyone knows of?

Just in case?   Please everyone...... think positive thoughts for him today.

Thank you !!!

He has a Doctors Appointment Today !  I will keep you posted ~

@stargazergal

You need to take this one step at a time ... and you trying to diagnose him yourself is pointless.    No one else's individual health means that much .....  your SIL is the only one who counts here.

Also ......   I seriously  doubt the doctor needs your input on what tests to do!   Fingers crossed won't change his condition, what ever it is.

One step at a time, ok?

Have a great evening !
