Re: Plant Based News ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ ๐ŸŽ

@SeaMaiden

Yeah, a study like this, especially in the middle of all the Plant-Based

events going on right now (meat & milk alternatives on the rise,

documentaries coming out, even the Amazon Rain Forest fires)

are putting the plant discussions & rebuttals on blast.

Mic the Vegan (Mike) is a vegan science write studying Public Health (Master level) and Dr. Garth Davis wrote Proteinaholic and is an

important voice within the Plant Based Doctor Network

are just a couple who have interesting dialogue w/ this particular study.

In summary...lots of holes in the study, especially mixing vegans

with vegetarians, and even the diet of a vegan is in question.

I didnโ€™t pay too much to it since โ€˜veganโ€™ can be unhealthy,

so I guess all these websites lost a click from me! ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Everyone will agree, though, that a plant based diet,

whole in nature & low in fat, is the optimum diet for all.

Thanks for bringing this to the table!

Re: Plant Based News ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ ๐ŸŽ

@sidsmom

Good morning! We are already into Day 4 and checking in to see how you are doing.  Thank you for the resources you provided. In all honesty, I need to see/hear what participants are eating, how they are preparing their meals  and what their results are.

I listened to Atlanta Creole Day 4 of 5 and while a very sweet woman, she only talked and her ailments and how important exercise is. Nothing really specific to MM?

I did find "I Kill Chickpeas" (I think that is the name) which I found helpful. She has lost a total of 70, yes 70 lbs, and she showed 6 different ways to cook potatoes. She and her hubby only lasted 8 full days on a MM but they both lost weight--I think he lost 11 lbs!

This is so much easier than I thought and I am so glad I chose potatoes. They are so filling and I can honestly say I am never hungry. Psychologically it feels good to detox from my summer nemisis--too many social (alcohol) events.

Oh and no problem with fruit not being allowed. I don't even like fruit, unless of course it is inside a Danish or on top of a cheesecake. Haha!

So how are you doing?

Re: Plant Based News ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ ๐ŸŽ

Yay!!

Sound like youโ€™re making it your own!

There are so many videos, Instagram account, blogs...

every one will be motivated with something different.

Maybe Krocks in the Kitchen will appeal?

They have a couple videos (linked below) and a โ€˜storyboardโ€™ area

which is a dedicated Maryโ€™s Mini storyboard...and have been very

successful with their weight loss.

if youโ€™re coming off a 100% SAD, your results will be dramatic.

The healthier one eats, the results will be less, but still, impactful.

I truly believe the 1st Mini one does, itโ€™s just a gut biome reset.

After that, it gets easier.

Atlanta Creole has a bunch more videos...cooking ones, as well.

the best idea I got from her was her Ballpark Potatoes.

Just steamed/baked spuds, mashed with ketchup/mustard/relish.

So simple. So filling.

HTH!

Re: Plant Based News ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ ๐ŸŽ

Thank you for more resources @sidsmom.

I am motivated by reading how others do on MM. I recognize my weight loss might not be as impressive as someone who dines on drive through 3 times a week, but I respond well to firmly adhering to strict rules. Once those parameters loosen up, I can get sloppy so this is a good plan for me.

@magicmoodz

How did you do on your 5-day Maryโ€™s Mini?

I lost a pound...and I even had a non-compliant dinner on Wednesday.

Non-Scale Victories:

My sleep has been a solid 7-8hrs (before only 6-6.5).

And thatโ€™s surprising since we have high pollen counts lately (ragweed).

And vivid dreams!  Donโ€™t know if thatโ€™s related but itโ€™s new.

And to qualify...I only worked out 3x each of these last two weeks.

Saving $$ is a given, yes?

Iโ€™m also finding out Iโ€™m not using hardly any of my dried spices

in my cupboards! Toss Time.

Hope youโ€™re doing well! Check in!

Re: Plant Based News ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ ๐ŸŽ

Hi @sidsmom

No 5-day MM for me. I am in it to win it a full 10 days or maybe even longer if no social events get in the way. It has been far easier than I thought and I haven't turned into a potato YET.

I have been suffering from acute insomnia, but have had really good sleeps the last 5 out of 6 nights, not getting up many times a night riddled with  anxiety because I am not sleeping.

I decided not to weigh in during my MM. I can be demoralizing when I lose 6/10 of a lb one day and go up 2/10 the next. So it will be interesting to weigh after day 10.

Thanks for putting the info out there for a great kickstart to seriously detoxing and getting back on track to a healthy lifestyle.

Re: Plant Based News ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ ๐ŸŽ

Dr. Neal Barnard is one of my favorites!

London Real is Brian Rose, who has millions of followers on

social media....and who does extended interviews with

movers & shakers...this time, Dr. Barnard.

Lots of people will hear Dr. Barnard's passion & message.
It's 1:45:00 interview...long, but they cover everything.

Growing up, transition to vegan, Game Changers movie,

his new book about hormones and of course,

his specialty, Reversing Diabetes. His passion to help

people is so darn endearing...I think I'm crushin' harder!

Dr. Barnard is an amazing interview...it's a time investment,

but oh so worth it.
