I just bought (2) Serta Extra-Firm Pillows (from Walmart)...

I have "respiratory issues" and I tried a couple of them last year, and they're the best pillows that I've found - And trust me, I've tried dozens.

They keep my head and neck elevated (but not too much), and they don't go flat, so that I can breathe easier while sleeping.

Due to "allergy issues" (as well), I swap out my bed pillows every 6 months, and these aren't expensive at all Smiley Wink

We've been using My Pillows for several years.  They launder easily and fluff back up in the dryer, as needed.  We won't sleep on anything else.

@Mom2Dogs - have you considered nasal rinsing with a NeilMed bottle and saline packets?  I've been rinsing for several years.  I had polyps removed and the ENT prescribed rinsing twice daily. I use a prescribed steroid with mine but lots of people rinse, to elevate congestion and give freer breathing.  It also might be a good idea to set up an appointment, to see if you have polyps.

Yes .. my Dr. said I may have to nedi pod twice a day ... plus

nose drops ....

If you shop at Costco, they have a nice Neilmed Kit that's a good deal, especially when it goes on sale.

Not a fan of my pillow ( Riverside in Laughlin used to have them in their hotel; couldn't stand them). I like a firm memory foam pillow!.

@Big Joanie  I had balloon sinuplasty over 20 years ago after a CT showed a 90% blockage that happened due to chronic allergies and polyps. They also did a turbinectomy to improve breathing.

It was the best thing I ever did health wise. I used to have chronic sinus infections that were terrible! Post nasal drip, that triggered coughing, ear infections etc.

Since that surgery I've had maybe 3! Hope you don't need it, but if you do...do it for your health.

@KBEANS  I also had a turbinectomy around 20 years ago along with straightening out my deviated septum.  My problem was that my nose (mostly on the right side) would close up at night when sleeping.  I found that once I got up through gravity the nasal passageway would open up but it would take up to 45 minutes to an hour to do so!  Not a good way to get sleep!

I started to use nasal spray which would work but I know it's bad to use it every night.  I had the procedure done and it helped a lot!  However today on occasion my nasal passageway still closes up but it only takes 15 minutes to reopen when I sit up.

I think the doctor did less that he should have but there is always the danger of doing too much which would bring on dry nose syndrome.

I don't know of anyone else who has had this done.

I use Martha Stewart firm 2 pk, then I have a Serra soft

I too have sinus and my allergists said sleep elevated

It has helped a lot!!

@katie1859

Sometimes I also use three pillows and the top is slide down to angle perfect for neck comfort. it has made a game changer.

@Mom2Dogs  before you start buying pillows try some stacking with what you have at home already.  The air quality is excellent today but between  some sour cream, drastic temperature swings  and mattress flipping yesterday woke up slightly congested.  So on these  occasions I take OTC Allegra, it does not make you drowsy, irritable or tired.

Hope you find an easy remedy.
