Got my treadmill this past fall and have been working on it five days a week.  Now that it has gotten warmer, some days I just walk Story a one hour walk and a shorter one in the afternoon.  For months I saw no change, but FINALLY my pants are hanging on me.  I can take a handful of material on both sides of my hips and pull it straight out.  My waistline is smaller, but still working on it at my age.  Very happy with my results so far.  My eating habits have changed because of the exercise I think - snacking much less.  It will only get better as the days warm and I can get outside more.  It's pretty normal that my results take time.  So don't get frustrated, your body needs time to get used to the change.

Good for you! I'm glad you have been able to stick with it. That is where I have issues. Life happens and I lose focus.

That's great.

Sometimes it takes a while to see results, but it's so worth it when you do see them!

Patience is the key to long term rehabilitation from a major physical health issue or long term weight loss and control, and improving one's physical fitness level.

Most want results yesterday. Fast and quick does not work, long term, for rehab/weight or physical fitness. Sticking with a short term goal is a good beginning. Then set the next reasonable short term goal, and go from there.

Checking weight too often when on a weight loss program has been the downfall of many and leads to disappointment and less confidence, then the "I don't have as much will power as xyz".

Being confident/dedicated/patient and determined I have found are generally the best path to reaching ones goal(s).

@hckynut, this is so true.  I got the cast off my broken foot two months ago.  I have slowly slowly come back to active.  I am still doing physio exercises daily and have really slowly amped up my walking routine.  Patience is not my long suit but this I have learned the hard way!!!  LM

@hoosieroriginal....I am going to take a guess that you live in Indiana!!

I live in Ohio..DH and I like to walk  when the weather gets warmer....I love walking and wish it was warm enough to get outside now but I am a warm weather girl.....if it is not pretty nice outside....I'm not walking but I do have a 'machine' in the spare room that I use in the winter...but much prefer to be ouside.  Congrats on the weight loss.
