I had a lot to say about this game on Viewpoints, so don't hold that against me in this thread, eh?
Under some very difficult circumstances, this turned out to be a great game played between 2 of the better College Teams in the nation. I certainly feel bad for all of the players on the Penn State team as these surroundings for over a week certainly had to open many unpleasant emotions for them and make keeping their focus on the game a very difficult situation for them.
I am from Nebraska so of course I was happy to see them win this game. Nebraska and Penn State have always been very high class sports teams, and this was showed by both team pre and post game.
Been around competive sports most of my adult life, and in many different capacities other than just watching games or playing games. Non sports oriented people seem to think that things like this effect only those directly involved. But, when it comes to high level sports competitions, focus many times is the difference between winning and losing.
Wanted to mention this over on this Sports Forum partly because of the things that were said by both myself and many other members on the View Points Forum about this game. Many of the things said there had nothing to do with Sports Competition itself, but more to do with all the surrounding difficulties about this game.
My most noted comments were made because of someone giving the outcome of the game in their thread title, and since I had DVR'd the game and had not watched it? I think most here understand sports and get my point.
This was a class game in spite of all the terrible things surrounding it. It was a testament to 2 major colleges and the class and competition they were both able to show during some very difficult surrounding times.
No need to respond, I for some reason still feel like typing, and since sports and exercise and fitnes are my thing?
