I'll do what I have to do to keep my students safe, but this sounds a bit over-the-top. If someone familiar with peanut allergies can enlighten me, I'd appreciate it.
I have 160 students and I see all of them in a two day period. I have one classroom.. they all come to me. I eat my lunch in my classroom, they eat outside in the CA sunshine
. I was told recently that I can't bring my standard PB&J sandwich anymore because one of those students has severe peanut allergies. Of course, I won't, but I'm a vegan and I rely on my PB as a source of protein, so I'll miss them
. Am I endangering that student if I'm eating peanut butter outside of the classroom? How do I know those particles or whatever it is that's affecting her won't be carried in on me?
