Am 73,and have been on Medicare as primary with First United American health insurance.
Have been on these plans for several years now.
Also have Epic as added with my plans. To add have Medicare Part 2 for prescriptions.
Just get 3 prescriptions and have not met my deductible. Just this past month was put on the Donut hole.
Was confused when i picked up a prescription for a foot i use about 6 weeks to every 2 months. Paid $11 in the past.
When i saw it was $35 i did a double take. Did not except it,and called Medicare, and my secondary insurance to inquire.
Seemed the donut hole went into effect this month.
I assumed as i think in the past your deductible did not start till the beginning of the year??
Sorry taking too long. Okay that is not my concern for the foot cream.
I am also taking Detrol LA 4mg monthly. I paid almost $80 for it.
Am on a fixed income with many expenses, and frankly cannot afford these outlandish prices.
Just to add i also take Crestor 5mg,and do for refill in a couple of days.
Am trying to find a plan that does not have the donnut hole, and a reasonable montly payment.
Am afraid to try any generics. Found out from my local Walmart Pharmacy that there is one or two for Cholesterol lowering meds. Pravastatin is one that was mentioned.
My Dr is not in today. I hope to speak with him tomorrow. I also am not sure since i get my Prescriptions from a private Drug store. Wondering if i am being charged more then some other Drugstores would be.
I never thought twice about getting my prescriptions till now.
My dh is not well, and had to give up working about 2 yrs ago.
Our taxes have gone up more then twice from when we built out home over 20yrs ago.
We recently put our house up for sale, and as you know the market is really bad now.
Our equity is in our home. Our savings are really going South and do not know what to do.
Sorry i am going on again.
I did find a Website called Health Ware house. I did check price of Zocor (Simvastatin) Price is very unbelievable.
There are many reviews and all are very good. As i mentioned am afraid of taking a generic, and also have been using Crestor. Also a lot of warnings about ordering drugs on-line.
Just wondering what you thoughts are on these issues.
BTW i live in NYS.
