TRY Califa unsweetened. this brand has a very short list of ingredients compared to some of the other brands and the calorie count is lower.
taste isn't too bad I use in coffee and tea there is another brand called New Barn but it's more expensive.
i would stay away from the others that come in cartons and advertise a lot ---- long list of stuff in them

Soy milk is not great for women since soy stimutates the production of estrogen.

How do I feel about soymilk? Tastes good to me, but I ain't into GMO/ORGANIC world. Costs way more than I want to spend, and unless someone has a diagnosed reason to stay away from "plain old/centuries old milk"? Like many supplements, if you think they make you feel better? Mentally, like a placebo, they probably do.
I am very much into what I consume, be it a liquid/solid, or something in between. Now if I was lactose intolerant? I drink regular ole skim/fat free/1%/2%, and whole milk, based on what I prefer at any given time.

@sidsmom wrote:Side topic...bone density:
Animal products CAUSE weakened bone density.
They are acidic & our bodies have to neutralize.
How does our body neutralize?
Pulling minerals from our bones,
causing bone density issues in the long run.
It’s not rocket science. Any ‘professional’ telling someone to drink milk
for calcium is just buying into the decades of milk marketing.
@sidsmom I have to agree with this-there are boku studies out there that have found hip fractures among other things having higher rates among people who have had milk their whole lives. The question is how much and how long-and studies vary on those points.
My mother never drank milk-a little splash in her tea in the morning and her bones were just fine up until the day she died at 74 years of age.
The issue isn't cut and dried, however, for everyone across the board-and that includes men and women.
A person who drinks milk her whole life may end up with osteoporosis or may not.
Studies need to include other risk factors such as smoking.
While I agree the risk is there, and the studies are there, it's up to an individual to decide.
While I'd like to see people eating healthier, I'm not going to force the issue on another person. Personally, I won't touch soy in any form. But that works for me and only me.

@151949 wrote:My gyne used to say to cut back on your fats and carbs other places but always drink your milk. Women need the calcium, and vitaminD in milk. I had cut back to 2% and now I've cut back to 1% but still drink a couple glasses of milk a day. My bone density tests are always good.My vitamin D level is also good - despite kidney disease that usually makes vit D low and my total cholesterol is only 121.
Your body really does not do well with all the soy products they put intio our food these days. All that plant estrogen is not good for you.
But cow estrogen IS good for you?

Do you gave information that there is estrogen in cow's milk. I've never heard that.

@QueenDanceALot Cows make milk pregnant or not. As long as they are being milked they will continue to make milk.Supply and demand. We had a milk cow when I was a child and there was no bull anywhere around so no pregnancy.
A woman can have a child 6 years old and still be breast feeding them- she's not pregnant. As long as the milk is being taken the breast will produce it.

Lactation means making milk.
And the milk contains estrogen.
So you think cow's estrogen is good for you?
