Just heard on national news claiming Ozempic's many new capabilities besides Diabetes and weight loss. The doctor stated it was found to be successful for the pain of arthritis, inflammation, high blood pressure, and several other issues.
It sounded like a wonder drug.

Interesting. The medication is already in short supply, I guess this will make it even worse. My doc switched me from Ozempic to another medication for my diabetes, and now it is getting hard to find, but I bet Novo Nordisk is thrilled.

I wonder if these types of drugs have had an impact on the weight loss places - Weight Watchers, etc.

@santorini. F4om what I've read, it sounds as though WW has joined them and is referring some members to doctors for prescriptions. Why one needs WW for that is a mystery.
My concern would be the possible long-term effects of taking these drugs, an unknown factor.

interesting. Often many drugs are found to have other uses other than the one it was originally indicated for. Since this drug has been out sine 2017 I guess it is time when we starting learning more about it. Stay tuned!

Some of the other companies - GOLO and others - that promise weight loss results may be going away if people know they can take something that will 100% guarantee weight loss.

The FDA approved the use of GLP-1 drugs in 2005. It was called GLP-1 RA. Since then there have been several other name brands marketed for different purposes besides for glucose management.
GLP-1 is actually a naturally produced hormone in the body but it has a short life cycle. Synthetic GLP-1 drugs have a long-acting effect so there are more benefits to it rather than naturally occurring GLP-1.
How do you boost your own natural GLP-1? A healthy diet and maybe these:

@SilleeMee , I just ordered Berberine from Andrew. Great things are written about it and am eager to try it. It's pricey, but Andrew's comparable, and I trust him.

Yes, I'd read a lot about its other uses awhile back. They even mentioned using it for people who had other diseases/disorders with a compulsive aspect such as gambling, alcoholism, drugs etc. It said that these folks were able to be successful during the course of this medication too. I'm really happy to learn this. It sure sounds as though it may hold a lot of promise for many.😃❤️
