Just heard on national news claiming Ozempic's many new capabilities besides Diabetes and weight loss. The doctor stated it was found to be successful for the pain of arthritis, inflammation, high blood pressure, and several other issues.

It sounded like a wonder drug.

This isn't difficult to understand as they are all linked.

I discovered low carbing in 2000. Reducing your blood sugar thru diet and/or medication will often lower BP (you tinkle more like on diuretics), reduce body inflammation which can ease arthritis and other joint pain.

While it may work for some, it does not work for all.

@febe1 I hope that down the road this is not a repeat of FEN-PHEN that was popular back in the 90's.     I lost a dear friend to that miracle weight loss med.

Cannibis fast growing among Seniors -

Medical Cannabis fast growing among Seniors and elderly. They want it and are taking it and are calling for it to be included in Medicare They have more success for Cannabis for insomnia and pain than for drugs prescribed by doctors.

The stigma has gone with the help it gives. If it helps more than pharmaceuticals and is not harmful, no elderly should have to be in pain.

Like prescription pain drugs, no driving while taking.

My hair stylist had a terrrible time with the damage this drug did to her.

She was taking it for weight loss, but it tore up her digestive tract?

@conlt I'm in the same boat as you.  I've been on Mounjaro 5 mg since April 2023 and I've lost over 70 lbs that I could never manage to do on my own.  I'd love to lose more but I'm plateauing as well.  I'm playing with the same 2 lbs since December.  The medication doesn't seem to be working as it did in the beginning. I'd like to move up to a stronger dose but so far my PA has resisted. With that being said, I'm absolutely thrilled with everything else that's happened along with the weight loss. My mood has improved. I no longer get terrible cramps in my legs.  I eat a lot healthier now. I was not a Type 2 diabetic but i was teetering on the cusp of pre-diabetes. My A1C is 5 now. My blood pressure is in the normal range.

This is not a miracle drug as many people seem to think.  You have to put in a lot of work for it to be successful.  It's just a tool in my arsenal.

My gastrologist showed me the after the drugs are released to the public findings on those weight loss drugs and that changed my mind real quick.  I forgot exactly what it's called but it is definitely posted.

Check with your doctor to make sure you know all the facts good and bad.
