Re: Osteoarthritis in hand pain

@151949  I am an RN, as you are, & I know all about the drug, Tramadol..my friend, a Pharm D, believes it is a very under- used drug in older patients, with minimal addiction risk..my PCP happens to agree with her.

Re: Osteoarthritis in hand pain

To the OP, I use a brace called the cool comfort brace, found on Amazon, I wear the longer one as it supports my wrist too. My hand specialist, wouldn’t give me any more cortisone shots in my hand , so I had hand surgery, where they removed a  bone from the  side of my hand, thumb side and yes it has helped, but I still wear the cool comfort brace @ times, please measure your hand as I am a small but went for a medium, more comfortable noun to tight. Hope this helps. Also  Paperwhite is wonderful for reading, not heavy at all. It is an ongoing struggle to enjoy life with less pain!

@sfnative is that something a person can buy over the counter?

@AuntG

Hi Auntg,

The CBD ointment/cream I use is called "CBD Clinic, Revolutionary Pain Relief."  I have chosen, on the advice of my daughter, to use the Pro Sport Level 5 ointment.  The ingredients and the ointment are both FDA approved.  It is the clinical strength of what you can purchase OTC, but much stronger.

This ointment comes in Levels 1 through 5.  Professional athletes typically use Level 5.

CBD Clinic Ointment can only be purchased through a physical therapist or professional massage therapist.  My daughter is the latter.  After having quite excellent results on many of her patients, she told me about it and was wondering if I'd like to try it, so I jumped at the opportunity.  I simply cannot brag enough about this product.

This is the real deal.  It's not the watered down version you can purchase OTC.  Pricing is based on the strength of the ointment you purchase, Level 1 being the least expensive and Level 5 being the most expensive.

When I apply it to my hands, which suffer from that acute onset arthritis of CRPS and the weird CRPS stinging and shooting pain, I place exam gloves over my hands for about 6 hours, so the ointment can do its work and not rub off on everything I touch.

This stuff really works and not just on my hands.  If you need more info, get back to me.  XXX
