Cheap, healthy alternative to store-bought, non-dairy milk:

Soak organic oat groats or oatmeal in water, overnight.

Drain and rinse

Use 1 cup of the soaked oatmeal to 3-4 cups water, sweeten/flavor as desired, ( I like peanut powder and maple syrup)

Blend.

Keep refrigerated.

Read the labels on the store boughts- Scary!

@Lacey1

I need to begin making my own milk on a regular basis.

You are right,...it's so easy!

Do you strain it through a Nut Bag?

Also:

Have you ever done a "Per Day/Week/Month" challenge?

I'm following a gal on YT (Cheap Lazy Vegan)

where she's doing a $3/Day challenge over in London.

I know FOK has a popular blog on $5/Day.

Challenges like this are eye-opening....have you done one?

I haven't, but I'm really tempted to see if I could do $5/Day...hummm.

I don't bother straining it, but I don't mind the texture. I use my Vitmaix!

I've never done a challenge, but I usually spend more on dog food per month, than my own!

Check out the Soyabella machine on YouTube and Amazon. If I didn't have the Vitamix-I would get this.
