Re: Nothing by mouth or just clear liquids ....

The doctor is responsible for your husband care. He made a dangerous mistake.

Unbelievable . Last week it was a poster with cancer that she insulted. Last time I checked that post was still there too.

Well, since I am not the only one questioning, I am in the company of other idiots! I don't feel so alone!

I find it hard to believe that anyone, let alone a nurse, wouldn't think it was important to inform them that the patient is a diabetic so a proper appointment time could be made.

My DH is diabetic.  If he had to go for a test, etc. where he couldn't eat until the test time, I would make sure the scheduler knew that so he could be put into a first morning appointment.

OP you can speak up for everything else, why not this?

Exactly!

I think this thread was to bash their FL healthcare as I said earlier...as per her usual.

I mean a nurse who claims to be sure to tell people off at what they don't know, sure seems to be lacking in the health information department and who claims to have gone to diabetes classes up the wazoo. SMH

I thought the OP said that she worked as a nurse in Intensive Care. How does a nurse work in Intensive Care and not know how to check blood glucose levels before they become an issue? I must be missing something....

Maybe she really does have a friend who is a moderator?

I don't know.

If she does have a friend that is a moderator, that really isn't fair.  She shouldn't get away with calling people idiots.
