I've been trying to drop the 10 pounds I gained since retirement. Based on recs here, I've started journaling my food and exercise on myfitnesspal.com, plus I am doing the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred. I am slowly beginning to see results. One thing I am still struggling with is a night time snack. My whole life I've had a snack around 7 PM every night, usually ice-cream. I used to be able to eat anything I wanted, as much as I wanted, but eventually had to give up the full fat ice-cream in favor of either low fat ice-cream or frozen yogurt. Now, I'm struggling with these 10 pounds but I don't want to give up my snack. I'm trying to shake it up a bit and not always eat ice-cream but I'm wondering if I need to give up the night time snack totally? Or is is OK as long as its relatively low in calories/fat?
My question is this......are those of you who are eating healthy and at a healthy weight able to snack at night? I'm talking a small snack (half cup ice-cream, 2 fig newtons, small yogurt, handful of nuts, or one cookie with 1% milk). I don't eat it later than 7 PM at night. Your thoughts???
Thanks in advance!
