Sad to hear of this new turn.
Unfortunately, it is not unusual to add a second, or even more autoimmune (no, no, no, please no more) disease if you already have one. I picked up a second one 3 years ago.🤕
At least you know and can hopefully get some help.
Stay Strong.
Best Wishes!

The manageable part is encouraging. Wishing you well @LilacTree .

I wish a certain poster who is no longer here could weigh in.
@Sweetbay magnolia Noel7 helped me immensely when I was first diagnosed. I really miss her...

@Drythe ...4 years ago this company began hosting the boards and many posters got to come back. I was hoping maybe some day Noel can return if the same thing happens. I often think of her and wonder if she is OK.

@LilacTree I've lived with lupus for almost 30 years. It is quite manageable, but there will be some periods where you may feel worse than usual. I have learned on those occasions not to beat myself up and simply wait for the tide to ebb and get back on the saddle when it does. As for the diagnosis, it's not easy for doctors to conclude that a patient has lupus. The symptoms often appear to be related to another condition. Testing is better than it was when I was diagnosed, but it's still tricky because some of us have really do have multiple conditions in play. Good luck to you.

It's better to know than not to. I'm hoping that they will come up with some treatment that will miraculously help control general feelings of unwellness (is that a word?!) and in turn might just help with all the pain you have. Thanks for keeping us updated. My fingers are crossed for better days ahead for you.

HaHa, SL!! My prior high was ten vials! However I am really used to this. This lady was very gentle and I hardly felt anything . Just one stick in one vein! Believe it or not she works her little lab right in the doc’s office and is 85 years old!
On the other hand at the ER yesterday, I had a male nurse who just jammed it in the IV portal. He was nice about it though. Fortunately, needles don’t bother me.

Once in a while when I received a ♥️, or response from Noel, I felt that I had ‘done Well’.

Unrelenting fatigue that is not cured by rest is the first effect of lupus. I’ve probably had it for a while and just didn’t know it. Thanks for your kind words, Jubilant.
