@JeanLouiseFinch  I personally did not care for Manuka honey.  I picked up a jar at Costco and it is the same one that the Q sells.  I get local honey at my farmers market during the summer, but I also order from Mountain Honey in Georgia and get their Sourwood, which is an award winner and made here.  They also have Tupelo, which I just ordered, and they have another for people who suffer from allergies.  I prefer local honey for allergies, but it is not available all year unless I stock up.

@camelot   Thank you, but I don't consider Wikipedia to be a credible source as anyone can contribute to it.  Educators that I know disallow it as a resource in research  assignments.

Well...honey has been around for millennia & manuka honey 

was ‘discovered’ in the 1980’s.  It’s been around.

So why is it so ‘talked about’ now?

Kardashian Effect,

which turns into Dr. Mercola Effect,

which turns into Dr. Axe Effect and

really turns into just a fad....like coconut oil.  

Someone writes a book & suddenly no one can find a stalk of celery

in the produce section (Medical Medium celery juicing).

Social Media & Kardashians have a very global effect.

@SXMGirl   I've tried that route with the local honey.  Unfortunately, it crystalized on me.  In order to get rid of the crystals, I was told to heat the jar in a pan of hot water.  That kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

never used it or any kind of honey, but honey is sugar

I think it’s very over hyped. I bought an expensive bottle on amazon. It tastes VERY different than regular honey. I tried to use it to soothe inflamed skin, no result. Just very sticky. It didn’t do anything I expected to. It was UMF 40.
