Hello all,

I am overweight and I will be the first to admit it. I want to make a change this coming up year. I want to be healthy again. I want to be happy again! I have already joined a crossfit club. Yes, there are times when I see all the skinny people in class being able to do the things I can't. However, I keep telling myself you didn't get fat overnight so there are some things you won't be able to do, in time you will. I will admit it there are times I want to cry in class because of the way I look.

I want to see if any of you would be interested in lets getting a group on here to support one another?

Honestly, I can't believe I just shared the above information. But I want my life back and maybe someone reading this wants theirs back to.

Me too. It's 20# I want to lose. At 55 I feel like it may as well be 200. I lost ""some"" over the summer and that ""some"" is back!

I plan on eating better and getting out my DVDs. There is a Any Time Fitness across town that I am considering. I am also planning on getting a FitBit.

Re: New Year. New You. New Me.

I found a cool site throught my vegan websites. It's called "The Protective Diet".

The founder & her husband, Julie Marie & Jerry Christensen, have a Live Webcast every Tuesday showing how to eat. She has 50+ of these archived webcasts you can watch. She will explain the program, how to cook, shop, menu plan, travel, how to handle emotional eating...all while adhering to this way of eating. The main focus is removing all additives & artificial flavorings. She posts TONS of recipes. I just made her faux cheese out of pumpkin, onion/garlic & nutritional yeast...SO GOOD! Plus there's a closed Facebook Group that's very interactive. She has a couple introductory videos showing the program....doesn't hurt to check out. Good luck!

I would love to cheer you on and in return get encouragement from others. I am in my late 50's and getting way overweight. I need a new year, new me. All my company left today and tomorrow I am going to dust off the Pilates and Tony Little Walker. I want to take my husband on this adventure as well. Wouldn't it be great if this time next year we all met our goals?

Re: New Year. New You. New Me.

I am looking to get fit in 2015. I say it every year but I am going to make every effort to stick with it. If I dont do it now, I will never do it. Every year there is a different ache and pain. Dont worry or even compare yourself to the others. Just keep yourself focused on your goal. I know that is hard. I joined a gym the week before Christmas and when I look around, I am amazed how fit some of those people are. It actually inspires me because I would like to someday be fit enough to do some of those things, so I am hoping that keeps me motivated. I tire at the simplest things. Fitness wise, I am at ground zero. Right now, I am only walking but once I build some stamina, I am going to train myself to run. I have never been a runner but I would love to be able to do it.

I think crossfit is great. I would love to do crossfit but cant take that on right now. Too many aches and pains. Good luck with it and enjoy it. Next time you look around at everyone, consider it inspiration.

Re: New Year. New You. New Me.

Mandylee, your post really resonates with me. I would love to have a buddy system so count me in. I have about 50 pounds I would like to lose myself. I am turning a decade in 2015....and the years ending with a zero has me in a bit of a funk. I feel old, and run down. I am hoping that focusing on diet and exercise in this next year will help me to have more energy and feel better. I've spent so much time focusing on others' needs... It is time for me to focus more on me.

it make be a little corney, but on pinterest, do a search for "diet inspirational quotes". there are a couple(more than a couple) that speak to me.
