Re: New Choconuvo 66%, 74% or 91%

@BExplorer

I called customer service and was told it was too late to cancel. She said that my order had just been changed to express shipping (2 day air). She also said that I would be getting an email today.. The good news is that I should be getting my order this week. My main concern was that I will be on vacation Aug.5th. Tht's the delivery date I was given originally.

Great, @Daydreamer !  I'm glad it all worked out. 😊

Re: New Choconuvo 66%, 74% or 91%

When I contacted ProCaps, no refund was offered. I was assured the product was safe to consume. I can tell you the 74% shipped this past week doesn't even come close to the taste of the same product shipped last winter. I wonder if they tweaked the recipe to better withstand the heat. It tastes like bland, cheap chocolate.

Of course, for a refund if ordered from there. That is all HSN could do.

I was actually more interested in what ProCaps (manufacturer) might have to say about the situation. Not sure if anyone ordered it from them this time around.

The Choconuvo was only available to purchase through HSN.  I tried to get it from Procapslab (to avoid the tax ) and it was not available.

Re: New Choconuvo 66%, 74% or 91%

This is the response I received from Procaps.  I did not request a refund, as if I wanted one I knew that I would need to contact HSN.  I mainly wanted to provide them with information, so they could improve their shipping process.

We apologize for the condition your ChocoNuvo was in when it was delivered and appreciate you taking the time to write to us. We are documenting all instances that are brought to our attention for Andrew and I appreciate you providing the detailed product information as well. Andrew will be reevaluating the shipping procedures and availability of this product during the warmer months. The containers can be placed into a refrigerator or freezer to solidify the product, the heat will not harm or damage the product so there is no need for any concerns in that area. Again, we appreciate your feedback and would like to thank you for continuing to choose ProCaps Laboratories.

I guess I missed that it was only available from HSN.

Do you get charged tax on his supplements from HSN? I'm curious because  that was my main reason for ordering from ProCaps, too. I'm in Florida so I am used to paying taxes on things from HSN. Then I ordered one of his supps from HSN & did not get charged taxes. It always shows taxes will be added until I submit the order & then they just disappear.

You need to call HSN since it was purchased (but not shipped) from HSN.

I emailed a very detailed write-up of my situation, delivery, and quality to Procapslab.  Both bottles of my 66% variety arrived warm to the touch and the couple of test squares I tested were melted. They did not sit on my front porch because the UPS driver handed directly to me at the front door.   I only opened one bottle and then put the bottles in the fridge. Later on that night, I took three squares out of the fridge  and tasted one square, but it was too cold and hard to analyze the full experience. After the squares came to room temperature, they were a bit distorted but they tasted really good.  I like both the 66% and the 74%. If I had to pick just one, it would be a tough decision.

I called HSN and the CS rep was really accommodating. She had no idea about the product and thought HSN had shipped it from their warehouse.  She wanted to send out a replacement but I told her that is not what I wanted.  She ended up giving me a small amount of "spendable cash" through HSN (good through Sept. 22).  I thought this was a perfect solution and thanked her at least twice.

This was a very risky "trial-and-error" for Andrew to do this time of the year.  I have yet to hear back from Procapslab from Friday's email.

No taxes on supplements at Procaps for me. I had a "duh" moment when I figured this out after about 15 years of paying tax through HSN.  It has saved me a lot as I take about 12 of his supplements daily!  Plus Chocnuvo and oatmeal/oatbran!
