I found this forum where people were talking about it, maybe it would be helpful to you?

I really appreciate your input.........I have already had 29 surgeries on my ears......have Meiner's disease, and was totally deaf at the age of 4, and I am now 51 years old, but can hear....some, and live with dizzy 24/7 and noise 24/7......As I told the MD at Mayo in Jacksonville, I have suffered more years than most ENT doctors are old........
He is now telling me that I will be totally deaf in one ear, and I am facing at least 6 surgeries, and waiting for a surgery that is not approved by the FDA in the US, but done in Europe, and will just be waiting for FDA approval in the US........Hearing aids are of no value to me, as I have a birth defect with my eustachian tubes, that until this point in life, there has been nothing that can be done.......
At least I have something to look forward to......meaning on my eustachian tubes, for some type of help.......
I have to work.....I do work.......I have been an RN for 33 years.......I never stay out....I have learned to adapt.......but my mental health is about gone, and I am about to scream, as I live in no where, so no one will hear me scream............

Forestwolf, no info here, just good wishes to you. You must be a strong woman to have gone through so much and a long career too. Good for you. My best wishes! LM

Although I don't have any true insight, I just wanted to send you some virtual support and a ((((hug)))). I am so sorry to hear of how long you have suffered and I hope that you find some answers.

Dear forrestwolf, I'm so sorry you've been feeling so rotten. Having dizziness and noise has got to be almost unbearable. Also, having anxiety is about as bad as it gets. I wish I were there to hold your hand and give you support. But, I'll give you a big virtual hug and will be here to talk to if you need me!
I'm a little unclear what procedure you're going to have. Will it involve one surgery? Will you get any relief right away? Try to live in the now, if you can. Take one day at a time. This will help you save emotional energy by not worrying about the past or fearing the future!!!
