This might help some of you, I have been suffering from gastritis and gerd since Feb

I had an endoscopy ,which found gastritis.  I have been doctoring for months, and it's been awful.

I just had my labs taken  this last week, and they found I am vitamin deficient in both B12 and D vitamins

I was put on massive doses of Vit D and B 12 shots. After taking the 50,000 units of Vit D , and a  B12 injection, I felt well for the first time in 10 months

It might pay to have your  lab work done to see if you need vitamins

@cherry, thanks for that. I was prescribed a huge dose of vit D & also have shots of B12 that my sweety gives me. I never took the D because I was always afraid it would hurt my stomach. Practically everything does. Anemia and the low vit D are the only things out of normal range when I got bloodwork last. My B was normal but the doc said it would help with my anemia.

@Renata22  I can only tell you my experience. I felt a lot better after I took my first pill

I would wake at least 4 times at night and have to take an antacid or Zantac, or Dgl licorace tablets

It has been months of taking everything from  Rx and OTC to try to feel better, and I had to stop eating all kinds of foods too

@Renata22  I was even able to eat an orange today, and later drink  8 oz of milk ,with no stomach distress at all

@Kachina624 I use to take Zantac 150 mg in the am. 2 years ago the doctor said to take 150 mg am and same for pm. I have pancreatic problems. I found getting a rx for 300 mg Ranitidine, 180 pills (generic Zantac) for $20.00 was cheaper. I split the pill in half and it gives me a supply for 6 months. The brand I get from the pharmacist is a big round pink pill. Easy to cut with a pill cutter.

Happiness is not a destination, it is a way of life.

I saw this new book at the library called:  The Acid Watcher Diet.  It is very good and has a lot of information about the issues along with the foods.  The author was involved in the invention whereby the endoscopy is performed through the nasal passage versus the throat.  I learned a lot.  Author is Jonathan Aviv, MD, FACS.

@Renata22 try vit D drops.  I have found them easier to tolerate.

@NicksmomESQ, how long did these take to start seeing a difference? I’ve only been taking them for 3 days & don’t expect a miracle, but it seems to be a little worse since I started. Very frustrated.
