Shoot, if he isn't being respectful, load it down on him, you've protected him long enough.

Just my opinion of course, for what it's worth!

Sending joy, prayers, love and gentle hugs to all who need them this holiday season.

WedMd says you can mix it with fruit juice, water, milk or soft dessert.

It also says it for contispation.  How does it help with your cognition?

Re: Nasty medicine

Lactulose (Constulose) is disgusting, isn’t it! My mom also took it years ago.

I’ve mixed with juice for patients or even a protein drink. Sometimes it helps if you immediately drink something you DO like right afterward.

Lactulose is prescribed for multiple issues. Even if you don’t notice an obvious difference it can improve your lab values.

I’m sorry your son isn’t nicer. Hugs.

The veterinarian had us give lactulose to our kitty for constipation. She absolutely hated it and cried something fierce when we gave it to her. We did it three times a day for four months. It stressed her out so much that she started losing her hair. It wasn’t helping her constipation so we stopped.

I wonder if you could use those water enhancement drops like Mio? Just a drop or two as they are pretty strong? Not sure it would work but might be worth a try.

Or even have jello to eat right after?

thank you all for your good ideas. I finall decided to chug it down and then take a sip of water, and that works for me.
