I agree very nasty stuff. It was not covered by my insurance and it cost $100.00 at the pharmacy. I didn't even think that it might not be covered, because the last time I used my drug card was 10 years ago.

Colonoscopy is scheduled for 4/19/17.... Doctor will only give Supprep... Need to think this out and be prepared this time.... Nurse in office said I should not mix prep with anything but I will have to in order to help the extreme nausea and throw up... Ugh... Thank you everyone for all your help... I suffer with the GERD so nausea comes easy...

Seriously I would consider switching doctors. I think some of these gastro docs are sadists and take pleasure out of seeing patients suffering thru this needlessly. Mine is very laid back, lets you chpose your own prep, but he recommends cit mag pills or the liquid, in fact he gives it to you in his office, no need to buy anything. I am a terrible gagger, so I go for the pills.

@hondagirl It will be over before you know it. I had to do this with the Suprep two weeks ago. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I got through it, and everything was good with the colonoscopy. I would use the majority of water to mix with the Suprep with just a splash of Ginger Ale or something else. I used all water.

Had to use the Supprep when I had my colonoscopy 16 months ago--it was horrible--couldn't even drink the morning dose, but luckily I was cleaned out enough.
Now something was seen on an MRI and have to have another colonoscopy on April 18th----my gastroenterologist would only accept my using Supprep again--he says he has the most success with it--he told me to add ginger ale to it to make it easier to swallow.
I know that won't make a difference--that stuff is the worst thing I ever had in my mouth and am dreading having to swallow it more than the colonoscopy itself. I will do my best--drinking it ice cold with a straw. I tend to gag easily too and my tummy upsets quickly.
You are not alone hondagirl!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try drinking 1/4 of it, rinse your mouth good and then take a sip of Gingerale or Lemonade. It worked for me.

Wonder if I could add Coke to it or Pepsi??? One person told me to have icepops on hand - I will try anything to make this work...

I feel for you.
The whole process makes me nauseous for days. Normally, they have to get me shots to stop me from throwing up or I dehydrate.
I detest it so much, I have put off going back.
