I know there have been many posts recently about the pros and cons of using nasal irrigation/the neti pot. I am currently on my second round of antibiotics for a nasty sinus infection and I'm desperate to make a decision as to whether this treatment would help or hurt my recovery. I have been to many ENT doctors and some give it a thumbs up but some also say that using the neti pushes the infection deeper into the sinus cavity, so I don't know what to do. If you do use nasal irrigation, do you use it mainly for every day maintenance or only when symptoms are present? Also, was it hard to use......did you wonder if you were doing it correctly....did it take a long time to master the technique? Was it a pleasant experience? Would you recommend using it during a sinus infection? Does any of the saline solution run down your throat? Because I have several health conditions that do not allow me to take decongestants, I am miserable during these sinus episodes and would appreciate any help that current users can offer re. nasal irrigation. Thanks so much for your help and suggestions.
