  • Have to go for my usual yearly heart check up.  I drink coffee and tea all day long.  However, starting tomorrow morning at 8:00am, I can't have any coffee or tea because of the caffeine.  If you are having a stress test done, you need to abstain from it for 24 hrs before the test.   Wish me luck.lol.

Hope you can have Tylenol if you get a headache from no caffeine. 🥴

I Guess that means you can't have chocolate either.

I had some kind of calcium heart test last week.  I could not have caffeine or chocolate 24 hours before.

You know how it goes ... no thought of chocolate for months.  As soon as you are told you cannot have it for a measly 24 hours, all of a sudden you need chocolate!!Woman LOL

And I begin each day with my homemade ice latte.  As soon as I left the doc office, I ran to the closest coffee shop to get my latte.

@fthunt   I'm sorry but why would you risk it?

@Icegoddess --I had to quit caffiene about 30 years ago--due to some heart issues, nothing serious, but very annoying. But I can have chocolate. I stick to the 2 oz of dark choc a day---My kind of Vitamine C---🥰

Re: NO CAFFEINE! UGH

[ Edited ]

Caffeine withdrawal is a real thing.  I happened to watch a Youtube video yesterday about a man who had gone to the doctor then ER with a terrible headache.  They preformed all kinds of tests on him and couldn't find anything out of the ordinary.

Finally the doctor who was doing the video commented that she decided to ask him if he drank a lot of coffee.  He said that he normally drank coffee all day long.  Since he wasn't feeling well and he had been to the doctors he had stopped.  She brought him a caffeinated drink and his headache cleared up.

It was caffine withdrawl which gave him such a severe headache!

@Fribwl That's going to be tough if you drink lots of caffeine.  It's quite the "drug"

I went cold turkey on Diet Coke several years ago as a New Year's resolution.  None of the diet sodas taste the same to me now and  about once or twice a year I'll have a few swallows of Diet Dr Pepper.

Have one cup of tea w/caffeine in the morning now and decaf or water the rest of the day.

They cut off your coffee, food and some prescriptions, shoot you up with some contrast until you glow, then make you run!!!!  I hate these stress tests.

Your have my sympathy and best wishes.
