It should be a good game next week for the Broncos...I hope they do better than the last match up with the Charges...Just OT...does that Old Spice commercial creep anyone else out...the one with the mothers...?...DW

I hadn't seen the Old Spice commercial until everyone was talking about it, then I watched it on Youtube. (I tend to do other stuff when commercials come on.) It's kind of funny and sad both in many ways. It doesn't really bother me. They have gotten pretty creative with their commercials lately. I'm not sure how well it will sell Old Spice though. As a general rule beautiful young women can sell anything to men, but bringing the mothers in probably doesn't help the sales a whole lot. Take Bar Refaeli and put her in a bikini (not that you often find her out of one) and have her say, "I just love a man who wears Old Spice" and you'd probably sell a lot more.

Next week's matchups will be interesting to watch. The pressure ramps up each week and it's always interesting to see how teams handle the pressure. Andy Dalton didn't handle it so well. The Bengals may have to make a move there. Do they take the chance on a free agent like a Vick, trade Dalton to one of the quarterback needy teams, and draft a new kid? Vick would give them a chance to be competitive for a year or two while the kid matures and could get them farther into the playoffs than Dalton if he stayed healthy. (A very big if.) Or, do they stick with Dalton and hope he matures his way past his inconsistency? By now they know how Dalton responds to coaching and how adaptable he is. (The fact that he's still making the same mistakes tends to imply he's not very good at responding to coaching or adapting.) They've got a talented team that's being let down by one guy. Do you keep that guy and hope he improves, or move on? Dalton's good enough (barely) to get you to the playoffs, but then he implodes. You can make a pretty good case that Michael Vick is a better quarterback and gives you a better chance to win.

Andy Reid made the same old mistakes that drove Eagle fans nuts. You've got a 28 point lead and you only run the ball eight times in the second half??? When you're up by four scores, just milk the clock and run the ball. Throw on third down for a first if you need to, but play it safe, and take the win. Don't waste timeouts, and ram the ball down the opponents' throats. Find a weakness and exploit it, but don't keep killing the clock and giving the ball to the other guys. Turn loose those big offensive linemen and tell them to pound the defensive line/linebackers. You'll wear them down and take away their heart if you keep after them. Three incomplete passes and a punt doesn't really bother the opposing defense.

Fly!!! Eagles!!! Fly!!!
