ANY CLOVID19 IN THE DENTIST'S PRACTICE?
Absolutely NO ABSOLUTES in this kind of decision making, decision making is weighing a bunch of not too great choices.

Good thing it hung in there. It's awful when they come out.

@violannI am sure that you will be fine. I had an emergency dental yesterday, and there was onlly one hygenist, the receptionist, and the dentist. All three were wearing masks. There were no payments made. Seats were blocked and appointments were scattered. I only saw one other client there.
The reality is that we cannot stop everything, especially necessary doctor appointments.

My gold filling that I have had for countless years-part of it broke off mid-March, days after lockdown. At least you have a temporary- I have a hole!

Our general dentist does do straightforward root canals, but (lucky me) my 2 most recent were complicated, and the one I'm living with now was a super mess, so Iwas 3 visits to the specialist, came home from the last one and made the appointment for the filling, and began lockdown in the next couple days, so my permanent filling ever made it under the wire, and our dentists offices just opened this past Monday.
so glad your friend did better than I!!

@Shelbelle I had a crown replaced a month ago... before the dentists were allowed to open as they are now... The dentist came in with one hygenist just for me!. Thankfully my dentist makes the crowns right there while you wait, so I left with a new crown the same day. No second trip.

I've had several emergency dental visits since Covid 19 began. Developed terrible tooth pain from a new filling that was too deep and aggravated the nerves, the tooth never recovered and I opted to have it pulled. Dopey endodontist tested the tooth and would not perform a root canal on it because it didn't "test" and I was in severe agony for MONTHS. Went for 2nd opinions, etc....what a friggin nightmare experience.
Personally I would have rather deal with Covid than chronic excrutiating toothpain. Having said that, the dental offices have been very careful, only accepting emergencies, masks, distancing, taking your temperature, questionnaires for patients to sign, etc....
Now that things are re-opening including dental offices, I would not be concerned. They take many precautions.
