Thank you for the update. Since I opted for only 1 Multi-focal iol, for me left eye, I had it done first. Your experience was almost the same as mine. In the waiting area prior to surgery I was reading a newspaper while waiting. I was wearing my regular tri-focal glasses.
I did try to read it without them, but no go there. As soon as my procedure was finished and I was heading out the door, I decided to try reading that same newspaper, sans tri-focals. No problem, it was clear/the paper seemed whiter and the print darker. Hallelujah!
Had scheduled my right eye in a month with the Mono-focal iol, but. Once again I ended up in the hospital with my colon bleeding. This was a little over 2 weeks after my eye surgery. But! Had to cancel that surgery as I was still in the hospital, and still having colonoscpies to find the bleeding once again.
I had to go through a whole bunch of Red Tape, just to be able to get my eye drop meds into the hospital. Needed by eye doctor to call them and then a Pharmacist to check the content, what a hassle. Still had 2 weeks of putting in, I think 2, of the 4 eye drops a few times a day.
Anyways, I am glad to see it seem to go well for you. I don't quite follow the "I have many wrinkles I didn't even know I had" comment. You talking about your eye surgery or something cosmetic.
Thanks again for your update,

@hckynut Ha! What I meant was the wrinkles were always there (I assume), but I just couldn't see them until now! What a rude awakening, but at least I can see better to put on the makeup!
My doc now has an eye drop where all 3 different meds are combined in just one bottle, so only 1 drop 3 times a day until the bottle is empty. Two of these little bottles is $90, however.

@2blonde wrote:@wonderfulworld Yes, I have an astigmatism in both eyes (I'm told nearly everyone does have to some degree). That made no difference; the doctor I have is excellent, but not cheap. My insurance would have paid for the standard lenses, but there's no way I was going to have to wear glasses for the rest of my life. The insurance covers the surgical procedure, but I'm paying $2,900 per eye for the symphony lenses. I'm using the CareCredit and have 1 year to pay it off in total.
Thank you! That is good to know. I pay around $400.00 a pair for regular glasses and then for sunglasses so it wouldn't take too long to make up the difference. Continued success to you.
@wonderfulworld I also wore prescription sunglasses for years until I bought my first pair of Fitovers for about $20.00 and don't need sunglasses any longer. My sunglasses are worn over my prescription eyeglasses and I love them. You may want to look into getting the Fitovers from Amazon or Ebay.

What a great idea. I will look into that! Thank you.

@Puppy Lips wrote:Thank you for your post about your eye surgery. I have worn glasses, then contacts, since 2nd grade. I am looking forward to getting my eyes done when my cataracts get bad enough. I guess that is one of the FEW advantages to getting old!
@Puppy Lips Yes, and the other advantage happened when I turned about 50!
HaHa -- that happened at 47 for me, a bit early, but I am not complaining!

@2blonde My daddy had his left eye done in May and is scheduled in one month to have the right eye done. He was so nervous and dreaded the May surgery...not knowing what to expect. The experience was good and the results are great. He can now use readers instead of his "coke bottle" lens in his glasses. He is now reminding mama how many days he has left until the next surgery.
So happy for you and my daddy, too!

@Pandalady Yes, I was a little apprehensive too. Mostly I was afraid of feeling sick from the anesthetic. I wasn't sick at all, and I can see a lot better now, so I'm actually looking forward to my right eye next week!
