Hoping you feel better soon.  I do think COVID had more of an effect on me than I ever realized.  Sending good thoughts and prayers.

@I am still oxox

You know you have many on these forums that are good listeners, and most times, if nothing else, do make you feel better knowing others are thinking and praying for you.

I can't personally relate to your specific issues, but I can tell you I have been in many health and mental issues. Almost every one of them had me wondering, what comes next.

During all those mental and physical terrible times(over many years), the thing I always felt, and still do, that got me through those dark times. It was always being optimistic when seeing even a glimmer of light, that kept me going.

My thoughts are with you during these very tough times for you.  🙏

I am very sorry about your headaches.  I've had them for for over 45 years.  Many different doctors and meds. I feel bad your doctor can't help you with this - maybe get some additional opinions?  I go to the chiropracter 2x a month plus get full body massages at least every 7 weeks.  Being retired I don't get them too much anymore but I have always struggled with them. I've had many surgeries and pregnancy and nothing is worse than a bad headache.

Hang in there. One thing I've learned with pain (both mine and my husband's) is that you just take it one hour at a time. I try to walk every day, listen to music and be grateful as much as I can. My brother in law and a very close friend of mine died of covid last month and they were only in their 50's.  The friend had ALS and it was just awful.

I am sending good vibes and hope that you can get some answers and relief soon.

I am so sorry that this has been an extremely difficult year for you and your DH's health issues.  Keep seeking medical advice, someone out there may be able to help you.  I am sure it is exhausting each day.  Best wishes for the day ahead..........

I am very sympathetic with your situation. As others have, I, too, encourage you to seek a second opinion regarding your headaches & other issues.

I share some of the problems you are having and saw doctors, specialists, physical therapists and chiropractors for  five years, with very little improvement.

There is an osteopathic medical school not too far away and I looked into what osteopathic medicine was all about. The idea the doctor would be looking at the whole person, not just headaches, or arthritis, or whatever was very appealing. It's now two years later that I've have been being treated by a smart & good DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine), and I am much improved in all areas. I appreciate DO's are conservative with tests and medications, and the benefits of osteopathic manipulative medicine have been beyond my, and the doctors expectations.

Yoga, or chair yoga (YouTube), will help your arthritis, because "motion is lotion" and help your spirits, too. @hckynutjohn wrote you beautifully about  being optimistic and put it so well.

Unfortunately, we are still in the throes of COVID and heading into the holidays which can be even more difficult. It is more important than ever for you to do what you can to feel better. You've got so much on your plate, but you have to make time to take care of yourself - physically, mentally,emotionally & spiritually, every day.

I hope this helps you in some way and I will keep you in my prayers.

I'm so sorry you're going through all this.  While mine isn't like yours (pains) nevertheless, I understand your situation.  Hope someone will find something that helps you.

@I am still oxox

Holidays are hard when you don't feel well!  Everything you see and hear says --- happy--- be happy --- we all should be happy at this time of the year! Well, it sounds great in theory.  But if a person is in chronic pain or if you have loved ones who are very ill, or you have lost loved ones, these upcoming holidays are very difficult!  I understand where you are coming from and I have empathy for you.

I think you received some very good replies and suggestions.  I am hoping some of them resonate with you.  Are you able to take walks?  They don't have to be long ones, but this is something that really helps me!  Of course, we know that walking is good for our physical health, but for me --- more importantly --- it really helps my mental health.  I have had days where I just thought --- I am so low and I am just empy inside, and I don't want to do anything or face anything --- and then I have forced myself to put on my sneakers and my jacket and my scarf and hat and gloves --- and go out the door!  It sounds too simple but this had worked more often than not for me.

The pandemic has really done more damage than just physically to so many of us.  The isolation has been pretty bad and has continued for so long.  It's hard at times to be positive about it all.

As far as medical advice, I can give none, but perhaps some of the things which have been posted might be things which you might consider such as seeing an osteopath, a chiropractor or physical therapist.  Just one of these things might tip the scale and give you some relief.

I am wishing you all the best!

My heart goes out to you.  Chronic pain is so hard to live with.

I really think, one way or another, you have to continue to find someone to help you.  Sometimes the answers are not obvious,  but have hope someone will have them.

Several years back, I started getting bad headaches.  Had many tests with no answers.  Finally, I was referred to an ear, nose throat specialist.  Guess what?  There was an inflamed nerve deep in my forehead that was causing the trouble.  A dose of steroid med eliminated it, and I have been fine since.

This is is just an example.  Please don’t give up.  I wonder if there is a hospital setting close to where you live?  They often have pain clinics.  You will likely have to undergo many tests,  but I am sure there is an answer.

Please know now that you have many friends here, who know what you are going through and care about you.  All my best.

Re: My life these days

[ Edited ]

For anyone suffering from arthritis, I recommend trying Andrew Lessman’s “Turmeric 400 Curcumin” very highly.

I suffered from arthritis in my lower back for a long time, but two of these capsules a day have really turned my life around.

Nothing is 100% perfect, but this has been a saver for me.

Tumeric has been known in some cultures for a long time, used in food.  This, to me, is better and more reliable.  Even my internal medicine PCP is starting to recommend this.  You can watch Lessman on HSN, although his products are sold also on his website, Amazon, and QVC.  He manufactures his products in his facility, hence they are produced in smaller quantities than big name companies.  I love watching him and listening, because his knowledge of supplements is impressive, to me.

I also have gradually added other supplements of his and have been very happy.  Not cheap, but I always watch for sales.  He is on every month for a time, with a few items on sale.  I do stock up on sales, which has saved me on expenses.
