It sounds badly inflamed. I think you should call the Dr

Thank you....my knee has never been pain-free since the surgery....guess i'm just one of the unlucky ones....and don't plan on going back to the same doctor that performed the surgery....in fact, going to any doctor to get an opinion is probably not going to happen.....had it treated many times before i agreed to surgery...i'm all set....just feeling sorry for myself and venting to you guys....

Time to call/see the doctor; this definitely should not be happening with an artificial joint.   Prayers for a simple fix.

You could have an infection in your knee.  You need to see a doctor ASAP.

I agree with what everyone is telling you. This is nothing to fool around with. See a doctor as soon as possible. If you don't want to see your surgeon, see your primary doctor.

@nana59 I agree with the others in here to see an ortho ASAP.  Any artificial joint that has pain and swelling can be an infection which is very serious.

I'm not trying to scare you, but infection can enter your blood stream and kill you. You are also in danger of losing a limb from it

Please think about calling your Dr ,or going to the ER

A close friend who had had a knee replaced 10 years ago developed an infection so severe that she was on IV antibiotics for weeks...stayed on the first floor in a hospital bed.  Before the infection was totally cleared. She had to have gum surgery because the doctors felt that was where the infection entered the body.

She just had the knee re-replaced and is finishing up physical therapy.

Please get to an orthopedic doctor quickly.  Pain is a sign that the body gives when there is a problem.
