My infusion nurse called to screen me before my appointment, and mentioned that my medication, Tocilizumab commonly known as Actemra, has FDA approval for trials. There are signs that it can treat Corona associated pneumonia.

I heard a Disease Specialist on the news last night and he mentioned 2 RA drugs being used in some trials. Don't remember the names, but he did say that preliminarily, they seem to look very promising in certain phases of the virus. More good news, and thank you for this info.

That drug is a cytokin modulator. It prevents our body from over-reacting in an immune response by regulating cytokins in the cascade of inflammatory reaction.

@SilleeMee Your knowledge is phenomenal! Thank you for sharing with us.
I'm very intrigued by this modulator and love learning.

Ive been taking Plaquenil for 20 years for lupus. It was a life saver for me and is dirt cheap. If they find it works for Covid, Im wondering if it will become unaffordable!

@meem120 Do you have your vision checked regularly? Plaquenil, taken over a period of time, can affect your retinas. I took it in the '80s and had to discontinue it after a couple of years due to potential eye damage. I was under the care of a rheumatologist who required eye exams every 6 months. It seems they're more loosey-goosey with Plaquenil nowdays than they were then. Makes me wonder who is prescribing it and how safe it is.

On Dr. Oz the other day, he interviewed the french doctor that is having success with the *2-drug cocktail* that the president was touting.
Several actual patients who were given the treatment and got better were interviewed. Obviously, they were grateful it was given to them.
So Dr. OZ is spending $250,000 of his own money (not a foundations)
to sponsor an actual clinical trial here in USA, probably at the hospital he is affiliated with....(though I don’t remember).
Every day, OZ devotes the first half hour to virus info., including interviews with scientists, etc.
Dr. Phil does it too, so I switch back n forth, lol.
Seems like the success of those 2 drugs is looking good, but because they are being used “off label”, they can’t claim it’s a cure, etc.
Plus Bill Gates has ongoing drug trials as well.

WHO is starting a SOLIDARITY trial. No idea how long a trial takes, but they plan to be working with thousands of people.

What don't they try the natural approach while dealing with this? There are things they can try but won't since they are not Big Pharma Drugs.
Why not try glutathione or Silver Hydrosol in nebulizer or Vit C IV.? They should at least be trying everything out there that may work.
