Someone on one of the other boards here had to go to the emergency room from one several weeks ago.

Pianomama, I haven't but here's the 6/2/14 thread colliemom3 referred to. Please read:

Question about Monistat.

I never knew it could cause such a severe reaction. Please call your physician or pharmacist. I hope you're okay.

Thanks, gals, for the info. My problem is itching ALL over my body. It is sooooo intense. The "other" area is much better. I don't know that the Monistat is the culprit. It began after I had a 3 day treatment of the M. The day I start itching was when my son, who has Type 1 diabetes, fell into a very low blood sugar spell. We had to call paramedics. I immediately started this reaction. That's why I was wondering if it could be stress. I have tried to reach my doctor to no avail. I wondered about Hives also. These are itchy little bumps. I know it is not shingles, as it is all over, not on one side. Hopefully I can speak to my doctor soon. In the meantime, Calamine is my best friend.

You are having a reaction to something, that's for sure.

Can you take some Benadryl? 50mgs( 2 tabs).IT will make you sleepy, but maybe if you take it at bedtime you can get some sleep and some relief.

Shingles does not have to be on one side. This sounds like shingles to me.

Shingles are not itchy at this stage, they hurt. Bad.
