@Mom2Dogs wrote:@qbetzforreal ...the only thing in the Weight Watchers recipe is bagged frozen fruit and crystal light. 2 cups fruit, 1 cup crystal light.
@Mom2Dogs- Is this one serving? I say that because that's a lot of fruit.

@qbetzforreal I double checked the recipe..yes, 2 cups frozen fruit (the pieces are pretty good size) and 1 cup of the crystal light/lemonade flavor.
I make frozen pops with part of the recipe and drink the rest...not in one sitting. It's to much.....I thought it would be OK because it was a weight watchers recipe???

Our bodies tend to plateu as we loose weight, so you just might be in a "rest" period right now.
You can always go to a nutritionist, and review what you are eating, and get advice there, because as you can see, if you ask 100 people how to loose weight, you'll get 100 different answers and everybody is an "expert" in weight loss.
What works for one, won't always work for someone else.
But in my opinion, I think that you're on the right track.

@Mom2Dogs Well, a smoothie is okay but fruit while it is nutritious has a lot of sugar. Crystal Light is low cal but has no nutritional value. Better to use milk or yogurt and ice. I would find a healthier smoothie recipe.
You mention that it was 10lbs. Just do a little tweak here and there and it will come off. : )

Plus, it has other benefits.
ITA. Build muscle... lift weights or do resistance exercises. Muscles are the part of the body that burns energy in the little cellular power houses called mitochondria. As you get older those mitochondria decrease in numbers (muscle loss) which is a huge reason why our metabolism slows down. If you rebuild the muscle mass lost from aging then you can speed up your metabolism and lose weight.

@Mom2Dogs It is important to think about enough quality food (nutrient dense but calorie light), don't deprive yourself or it promotes slow metabolism.
Agree with @SilleeMee regarding weight training if you want to up your metabolism...you could start with light weights. Muscle will increase your metabolism.
Keep it simple, eat whole foods (especially lots of veggies), and enjoy!

Addressing your specific question about metabolism...
Adding lean muscle mass to your body will boost your metabolism. The fastest way to do that is to start adding more to your biggest muscles. I'm going to bypass the real names of the muscle groups; keeping it simple, just figure butt, thighs, hamstrings, and back
Daily exercise is fine, especially if it's aerobic, but it doesn't necessarily add muscle to your body.
Use your exercise time to target building those muscles groups.
Dancing is a fun way to start intentional movement, especially if you haven't exercised for a long time. "Doing stuff" isn't exercising.
Once you've been moving around on your feet for 15-20 minutes at a time for a couple of weeks,
pick up a light weight, maybe start with 4 pounds, and start building those gorgeous summer arms!
In no time you'll be doing weight bearing metabolism boosting exercises that start to reveal new contours in your legs, while working your whole upper torso with 4 pound weights.
Why does this work?
Because at rest, muscles burn through a lot more calories than fat does. When you increase the percentage of lean muscle mass in your body, the caloric demand goes up.
Just think, you'll be burning more calories all the time, even while you're asleep, if you increase your lean muscle mass.
That's metabolism, baby!! 😉

I have been on WW for the last 14 months and their current party line is when fruit is blended it has points. Your body does not expend the energy to digest as it would if the fruit was chewed

Sometimes the amount that I eat and how much I exercise enter unreal territory. I can tell by the waist of my jeans. Just need to step back and get back with the program.

If you want increase your metabolishm, it's all about the exersize. There are no foods or supplemants that can do that. Of course, what you eat is crucial to weight loss too. If you have the food part under control and you still are not losing weight; aerobic exersize burns fat and strength training builds muscle, muscle burns calories. Also, you have to ensure that your diet includes enough protein.
