Received an all hands message today from our provider clinic in Santa Barbara, which included the following:
* vaccinations will go more slowly than flu ( mandated 15 minute observation after shot )
* won't get through 1st wave until March, unless new "1 shot" vaccines become available
* they aren't currently taking waiting lists to get vaccine
* they are currently giving Moderna vaccine
Obviously this pertains to a specific location but their local I.C.U. ( Cottage Hospital) is only at 65%.

It's good of them to update the local community.

The new recommendations put several worker groups way up there, which actually makes sense. Think we older types need to be patient.

All vaccine administrations require monitoring for 15 minutes post vaccine administration and epinephrine is required to be readily on hand . I have organized and supervised many vaccine clinics . However since so many places are now administering vaccines and staff other than Registered Nurses are administering the vaccines , some of these prudent evidence based practice measures are not always followed.
