I always rely on packets of Emergen-c packets with vitamin C . Take about two or three during the day.

An old fashioned cough remedy that has helped is taking one cup of hot water, one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one tablespoon of honey together as a hot toddy.

I don't have a problem taking aspirin and that is a big help too.

Vicks VapoRub on soles of feet is effective for a cough too.The skin on the soles of the feet have receptors that will help stop cough.

I also like Mucinex for a cold.  There are several different kinds for different symptoms but in my experience they work well.   I had asked a friend pharmacist at one point what the best cold medicine was and that was his answer.  Feel better.

Try Ricola lemon mint or cherry cough drops for that annoying tickle in your throat. They taste good and they're soothing.

I always take lots of Vitamin C when I feel a cold coming on.  If I have it on hand, also Zicam.

I don't take much for a cold---just something for pain and aches, maybe some cough drops for a sore throat. Most the OTC stuff makes my heart do weird things so I don't bother--however--take your temp and IF needed--go get tested----

Water, chicken soup, zinc & quercetin (helps the zinc to get into your cells), vitamin C, vitamin D3, humidifier or steam.

I have elderberry syrup I keep in the refrigerator.  If I know I will be with groups of people, especially children, I start taking it about a week or 2 ahead.  I also have Zicam sticks which my dentist recommended for flights, being with a lot of people you don't know.  You just rub in your nasal passages and hopefully that helps.   It is hard to keep well these days.  Hope you feel better quickly.
