You're getting good suggestions, but in addition, whatever you take, make time for SLEEP.   My sister calls it crash and burn when she's sick. 

 

Your body needs to fight off those nasty bugs and repair itself  ... and it is able to do it best when you are resting.

 

Or ...  get a good stack of magazines and catalogs and spend a day in bed.

Ricola drops stop any cough I get in an instant.  I have allergies all year long to various things so I buy these from Costco in case lots.
